Raleigh Refugee Project
The Raleigh Refugee Project (RRP) provides faith based assistance to refugees resettling to the Raleigh, NC area. RRP is a completely
volunteer organization. Working in conjunction with local churches and the Refugee Sponsoring agencies, RRP support
services to refugees primarily during their first 6 months in Raleigh.
RRP services include:
- Friendship and friends to call for help
- Working with the sponsoring agency to find and subsidize an apartment
- Help furnishing the apartment
- Securing enrollment in an ESL class and transportation if needed
- Help adjusting to Raleigh (Buses, library, shopping etc.)
- Help with Transportation
- Help looking for jobs
Refugee Sponoring Agencies RRP works with
- LFS Carolinas - Lutheran Family Services
Carolinas
- USCRI - US Commitee for Refugees and Immigrants
(USCRI is a non government agency)
Resettlement of refugees is coordinated and regulated by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services
